What’s Covered Under Routine Dental Visits?
Maintaining your oral health is easy and affordable with BIG’s microDental services. Routine care helps prevent major dental issues and ensures a healthy smile for years to come. Routine dental visits typically include the following services, which are fully covered under BIG microDENTAL:
Comprehensive Oral Exams
This initial exam assesses your overall oral health. Your dentist will examine your teeth, gums, and mouth to identify any issues, such as cavities or gum disease.
Frequency: Once every 6 months
Dental Cleaning
Professional cleaning removes plaque, tartar, and stains from the surface of your teeth. It helps prevent gum disease and cavities.
Frequency: Once every 6 months
X-rays
Professional cleaning removes plaque, tartar, and stains from the surface of your teeth. It helps prevent gum disease and cavities.
Frequency: Once a year (unless additional views are necessary based on diagnosis)
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride application helps strengthen tooth enamel and prevent cavities, especially in younger patients.
Frequency: Once per visit for children and adults at higher risk for decay

How to Schedule Your Visit?
Health Subscription Members are encouraged to schedule their covered dental cleaning and exam every 6 months. This ensures that your oral health is regularly monitored, helping you avoid larger dental issues in the future. To schedule your visit:
- Contact your preferred in-network dentist directly.
- Present your BIG Subscription Card information, along with secondary identification at the time of your appointment.
- Remember that these routine visits are fully covered, with no out-of-pocket costs.
For Providers:
How to Submit Your Claims?
Dental providers should submit claims directly to BIG for routine dental cleanings, exams, X-rays, and any necessary fluoride treatments. Be sure to include diagnostic codes for cleanings, exams, and preventive treatments performed during the visit.
